Zig Zag Lane is an audio post-production and music composition facility in Sydney, Australia. It comprises four recording studios utilizing Digidesign ProTools digital recording systems.

Zig Zag Lane was established in 1995 by engineer/producer Derek Allan and composer David Chapman, cementing a part-time partnership of seven years writing and producing soundtracks for TV and radio advertising. From experience gained over the years working at numerous studios, the pair were keen to establish a relaxed and comfortable studio environment for clients, along with an integrated approach to music composition and post-production.

Complete renovation and refurbishment of premises in Crows Nest, New South Wales resulted in the creation of a space that was both functional and personal. A recording studio, with a Pro Tools non-linear audio recording system, and associated voiceover booth lay across the hall from a MIDI suite and a live room for music/foley work, allowing close interaction for projects involving both music composition and post-production.

The design and construction of a third studio was completed early in 1997 and David McCarthy, a former BBC sound engineer and SBS producer, came on board. In 2002, the Blue Studio was equipped for 5.1 surround mixing, and 105cm plasma displays were installed in both main studios. A smaller front studio was also setup with a full Pro Tools system for tracklay, editing and session preparation.

In 2003 the operational staff was increased with the inclusion of engineer Jacob Staley, who also brings additional marketing skills to ZigZag. Jodie Fischer is the newest member, taking on the role of Facilities Manager. She joined in early 2005.
